Hello! My name is Kristan Perryman and I am starting my fifth year at Hyer. I LOVE teaching at Hyer! What makes Hyer so special are the families we are blessed to know, love, and form lasting relationships with. I look forward to working with both you and your child this year.
Here are a *few* facts about me. I am a native Texan and proud of it! I have lived in San Antonio, McAllen, Waxahachie, and Dallas. I left Texas in 1993 to attend Pepperdine University. After receiving my BA in liberal arts and education, I moved back to Texas to begin my teaching career. Before teaching at Hyer, I taught for ten years in Duncanville ISD. Reading and writing is a passion of mine that I hope to pass on to my students. There is nothing more that I enjoy than reading to and with my class. I am constantly on the *hunt* for new books that will bring a variety of cultures and experiences to our classroom. Another one of my loves is my dog, Jack (also known as Jackyboy). Last year I was so happy when Jack agreed to live with me after our meeting at the Dallas Shih Tzu rescue. He is a small dog with the bark of a Doberman and the heart of a Lab! Jack provides a lot of stories that I enjoy passing on to the kids. I am also the proud aunt of two little girls, Stasya and Bella. I spend quite a bit of time traveling to Washington, DC to see them. Both Stasya and Bella provide a ton of fun stories for me to share with the class.
I look forward to learning more about each of you and your child this year.
